1. What does body storage mean?
The storage of whole bodies, fragments or tissue at the scene of a mass fatality incident, emergency mortuary or permanent mortuary facility. Nutwell’s ResponStor® system distinguishes itself by providing dignified, secure and self-contained body storage when and where required.
2. What internal temperature does the ResponStor® system maintain?
Our chillers are normally set to maintain an internal temperature between 3.5 and 4°C. However, we can supply chillers that will freeze down to -25°C if required.
3. We already have a mortuary. Why replace it with a ResponStor® system?
ResponStor® systems are used to provide incremental storage in existing mortuaries at times of excess demand, during refurbishment or periods when the permanent storage facility may not be operating. The ResponStor® system is stored flat-packed when not in use and can be assembled by two people in about 15 to 20 minutes when required. No tools or special skills are required to assemble or disassemble the ResponStor® system.
4. How much floorspace does a ResponStor® system require?
The ResponStor® system is very compact. Each ResponStor® has a footprint of 2m x 1.6m with an additional 1m x 0.6m to either side (or optionally to the rear) for the chiller unit. Standard ResponStor® systems are 1.9m tall.
5. Do ResponStor® systems conform to applicable European Union regulations?
Yes, ResponStor® systems conform to applicable European Union (UE/CE) regulations and meet Health & Safety/NIOSH lifting standards.
6. What solution does Nutwell Logistics offer for the current “Swine Flu/H1N1” pandemic (PanDflu) threat?
Nutwell Logistics offers a large scale ResponStor® system that is capable of storing up to 96 bodies with a very compact footprint of 12 metres by 4 metres including chillers. This represents probably the highest density temporary storage available on the market. The chillers require only a standard single phase electrical supply. Temporary buildings used to house ResponStor® systems require no expensive preparation or reparation work.
7. Can I reuse the ResponStor® system?
Yes each ResponStor ® system is reusable as many times as needed. It has a 10 years life expectancy.
8. What maintenance does the ResponStor® system require?
Other than ensuring that the ResponStor® system is kept clean there is no special maintenance regime. The ResponStor® system should be stored in a dry environment. During long periods of storage the chiller should be “exercised” every six months by switching it on and leaving it running for around 15 minutes.
9. What is needed to clean the ResponStor® system?
The same agents and chemicals that are used to clean a permanent mortuary are used to clean the ResponStor® system. There is no need to buy any special cleaning products for the ResponStor® system.
10 .What is the maximum period of time that the ResponStor® system can be used for?
Once assembled the ResponStor® system can be left in service indefinitely. Whilst generally we described the ResponStor® system as “temporary” storage we have clients that use the system continuously month after month to supplement their permanent storage. There is no practical limit to the period of time that the ResponStor® system can be in service.
